Helping Kids With Smiles For Life!

By | Children's charities, Crown Council, Smiles For Life campaign, Tooth Whitening

This year’s edition of the Smiles For Life program is underway!

From now through June, participating dentists in the United States and Canada are offering teeth whitening services in exchange for a donation to Smiles For Life. The money that they raise is distributed to hundreds of children’s charities.

A veteran Smiles For Life dentist explained how it all works: “Your practice donates the time. Peoples’ smiles are professionally whitened, and 100% of the patients’ contributions goes directly to kids in need, both in your own community and around the world.” If you’re a Crown Council dentist and would like to be a part of the effort, signing up is quick and easy!

The children’s charities receiving the funds have all been approved by Smiles For Life. They include St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation.

Teeth whitening supplies are all donated by Ultradent, the maker of Boost and Opalesence whitening products.

It’s one of the surest signs of spring: the annual Smiles For Life campaign! The 2020 edition of the event is about to begin. People all across the United States and Canada can get their teeth professionally whitenened, and help out a worthy cause at the same time.

The Smiles For Life campaign is the charity arm of the Crown Council, and it runs from March through June every year. The money that is raised is for seriously ill, disabled, and underpriveged children all over the world. Millions have been raised in the last twenty years.

Participating dental practices throughout North America whiten the teeth of their patients. Instead of paying the dentist, they pay the Smiles For Life Foundation. Half of that payment will go to a local children’s charity that the dentist chooses. The rest of it goes to Smiles For Life.

Smiles For Life: Two Great Partners

By | Children's charities, Crown Council, Smiles For Life campaign

The 2020 edition of the Smiles For Life campaign is now just a few months away, and marks the twenty-second year of the Crown Council’s flagship event.

Since 1998 participating dental practices in the United States and Canada have raised more than forty million dollars for Smiles For Life by whitening teeth. Instead of paying the dentists, patients make a donation directly to Smiles For Life.

The funds are distributed to approved children’s charities, including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.

“We have two great partners with Smiles For Life,” said the Crown Council’s Greg Anderson. “One is Ultradent. Ultradent provides us with whitening material for absolutely no cost.” Ultradent products include Opalescence and Opalescence Go; the company is the leader in professional teeth whitening products.

“The second is My Social Practice,” Anderson continued. “They donate all of the design of all of the marketing materials for the campaign, and we owe them a great debt of gratitude.” My Social Practice provides the dental industry with social media marketing solutions.

Smiles For Life begins in March and runs through June. You can sign up your dental practice for the Smiles For Life campaign by following this link.

Very Simple, Very Effective

The Smiles For Life Foundation has helped needy children all over the world for more than twenty years, by raising money to support children’s charities.

The centerpiece of the Smiles For Life Foundation is its annual teeth whitening campaign, which runs each year from March 1 through June. Hundreds of Crown Council dentists across the United States and Canada participate by whitening the teeth of their patients. Instead of paying the dentist, payment goes directly to Smiles For Life.

“Smiles for Life works very simply,” said Greg Anderson, the head of Crown Council. “Ultradent provides the whitening material. [Dentists] provide the professional service. The patient directly contributes to the Smiles for Life Foundation for the cost of the whitening.”

Ultradent has been the leader in professional teeth whitening products for more than twenty-five years. They are the makers of Opalescence and Opalescence Go.

The Smiles For Life Foundation receives 100% of the contributions, and in turn distribute all funds to approved charities. These include Feed the Children, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and many more.

Smiles For Life: The Really Cool Part

By | Children's charities, Crown Council, Smiles For Life campaign, Tooth Whitening

The Crown Council dentists who participate in humanitarian work made possible by the Smiles For Life Foundation say their goal is to improve the lives of those they come in contact with.

“Our motto is,” one of them said,  “it’s not about the teeth, it’s about the people.”

The Smiles For Life Foundation is the charitable arm of the Crown Council, and in the more than twenty years since it was established, it has raised more than forty million dollars. That money is used to help seriously ill, disabled, and underprivileged children all over the world.

Smiles For Life raises money through an annual teeth whitening campaign. Each year, from March through June, Crown Council dentists all over the United States and Canada offer their teeth whitening services at greatly reduced prices. Instead of paying the dentist, though, patients whose teeth are whitened make a donation to Smiles For Life.

Half of that payment goes to the local charity partner of the participating dentist. The rest goes the Smiles For Life Foundation, for distribution to approved charities all over the world.

Participating charities include St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation.

“The really cool part?” said Garth Brooks. “100% of the money goes straight to the kids.”

Smiles For Life has also funded humanitarian expeditions into the Dominican Republic and Guatemala. “At the end of the day,” said one of the participating dentists, “it’s really not about how many teeth you fix in a day. It’s about the people that you put your arm around, and let them know that we’re all God’s children.”

Smiles For Life: Just Wait ’til Next Year!

By | Children's charities, Crown Council, Smiles For Life campaign

The Smiles For Life Foundation has been raising money to benefit children’s charities for more than twenty years. The latest campaign wrapped up at the end of June, but it’s never too soon to start thinking about next year.

Smiles for Life uses teeth whitening to help children's charitiesSmiles For Life has raised more than forty million dollars since it began in 1998. It’s one of those ideas that is beautiful in its simplicity: participating Crown Council dentists all over the United States and Canada offer special teeth whitening services from March through June. Instead of paying the dentist, you pay the Smiles For Life Foundation. Half of that payment goes to the Foundation, while the other half goes to a local charity of the dentist’s choosing.

The payment may be split fifty-fifty, but 100% of it benefits needy children all over the world.

The program could not succeed without the participation of Ultradent. Ultradent donates all of the whitening supplies, and is a maker of professional-grade teeth whitening products used by dentists everywhere.

Did you miss out this year? We’re sorry for that! But rest assured, the wildly successful Smiles For Life program will be back in 2020, whitening teeth and raising money for the worthiest of causes, children who are seriously ill, disabled, and underprivileged.

By | Children's charities, Crown Council, Smiles For Life campaign

We did it! Smiles For Life has completed another successful campaign to raise money for disadvantaged children all over the world – and we couldn’t have done it without you.

The 2019 Smiles For Life Campaign began on March 1. That’s only four months ago, but the time just shot by. Thousands of ordinary people took part in the campaign. The tally for  this year isn’t in yet, but we’ve raised more than forty million dollars since 1998. Every last penny has benefitted hundreds of children’s charities.

“This is only possible thanks to the passion and dedication of our volunteer dentists and the wide range of Opalescence whitening products that Ultradent provides each year,” said Greg Anderson, director of the Crown Council in Salt Lake City. Each year, he explained, Ultradent donates teeth whitening products used in Smiles For Life.

And those dentists? Crown Council dentists use those Ultradent products to professionally whiten teeth for Smiles For Life. Hundreds of practices across the United States and Canada take part. Instead of paying the dentist, their patients make a check out to the Smiles For Life Foundation, which distributes the funds to approved children’s charities like Feed the Children, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the Ronald McDonald House. And that’s just to name a few.

Smiles for Life; whiten teeth to help a children's charity of your choiceWe would like to extend a warm thank-you to everyone who took part by having their teeth professionally whitened during the 2019 Smiles For Life Campaign.
